Back to the orchard

On Sunday we took Mike out to the orchard since he has not gone apple-picking with us in a couple of years. This time we loaded up on Macs, Gala, Empire, and some other kind that was NOT Honeycrisp, because they are apparently the Cadillac of apples and cost twice as much as the others ($1 per pound vs. 50 cents per pound). So I told the guy, "Point us in the direction away from the honeycrisps." We picked a huge box full of apples and our grand total was $11. I need to channel my inner Martha and get canning this weekend.

They are that expensive because they are THE BEST of any apple EVER. But yes, I understand not wanting to load up on them. I do get a good sized bag every year though.
