Fall Soccer

Both boys are playing soccer this fall. I think this is Henry's last time playing soccer (he'd rather play baseball) and I am so excited about that - I love my kids, but boy do I hate watching soccer games!
George is on the "Sweet Potatoes." Henry is on the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays' uniforms are bright freaking orange. You'd think that someone assigning uniform colors would think, Hmm, perhaps we should be sure to give the Blue Jays blue shirts, no? Guess not.
One of the reasons Henry is not so thrilled to play anymore is because they don't put the kids on teams with their schoolmates anymore, and Henry was always out there for social reasons 95% of the time. He's just not a competitive kid and some of the boys his age are becoming more, ahem, aggressive. There was this one kid last week who was totally into the game and WINNING (even though they don't technically keep score). He was even trash talking our team and players. Henry was laughing at him. I love his attitude. I'd much rather have him be an easy-going, happy kiddo having FUN than some psycho sports nut at age 8. This kid was bawling and kicking the goal post when he let a goal go through when he was playing goalie. Seriously, what are these people thinking?
