Jersey boys

Posing with snazzy Easter cupcakes
On the train to NYC

Helping Grandpa with his trains

We're back from our trip to Jersey - we had a great time! Other than George getting a rash the day before we left and spending the entire trip in a state of itchiness, things went very well. We went into the city again on Friday on the train - Georgie, Henry, Bill, and MP went to the circus at Madison Square Garden while Mike and I went to the Met - the first time for both of us. I left there vowing to expose my children to more art and culture. I mean, there were kids in there speaking French. My kids' conversations mostly involve poop and Storm Troopers. We walked around the Upper East Side before heading to lunch near Rockefeller Plaza and then met the rest of the gang for the train ride home. On Saturday we dyed Easter eggs and had a nice lunch with Ray and Roberta, MP's cousins. I was especially excited because Roberta had some inside scoop on one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey - she is a realtor in the same town! We came home yesterday - I had arranged for our neighbor to hide the eggs and put out Easter baskets before we got home so the boys would know that the Easter Bunny did not pass them up.

Perhaps the funniest part of the trip was when we arrived at the Newark aiport. We came down the escalator to baggage claim and MP was there to greet us (Bill was outside ready to pick us up). Henry ran right over to MP to give her a big hug. Georgie jumped out of his stroller, and in his haste to give someone a hug too, ran up to a random man standing near MP and embraced his legs. (The man was young and Hispanic - not exactly a dead ringer for Bill). The guy was a good sport about it and Georgie didn't seem to care that he was hugging a stranger. It was hysterical. No shyness in that child.
