A couple of weeks ago I went on George's 4K field trip to the bus garage. George was selected to be the "special helper." He was all business. It's nice to know that for as silly and crazy as he gets around us that he can reign it in when he needs to! The field trip was cute - they learned the bus rules and how to get on and off the bus safely, then we all took a brief ride around Carson Park. He is so excited for kindergarten next year. His reading and writing have really taken off in the last few months. At Christmas he was just sounding out short words and easy sight words but now he's reading fairly fluently. At the kindergarten screening the teacher said they are doing guided reading groups now in the kindergarten for the whole year so he will start the year doing that, which is nice. When Henry was in kindergarten they didn't do reading groups until the end of the year.
