Moving update

Yes, we’re on the move! Mike has accepted a position at Acadia Hosptial, which is the behavioral health wing of the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. We are really excited about the move, as Mike has been dying to get back to Maine and I have been anxious to get settled somewhere and move to a smaller city. Bangor is about the size of Bloomington, Indiana, which is my favorite place I have ever lived so I am really looking forward to raising the boys in a more laid-back, smaller city atmosphere.

But along with the move comes the pains of moving, mainly selling the house and saying good bye to all of our wonderful family and friends in the Midwest. Sniff, sniff.

But this blog is not about being sappy, so onto the funny stuff.

First of all, we told Henry we were getting a new house. He declared that he wants a red house, and he thinks we are going to Home Depot to pick it up and put it in our backyard. Now everyday he asks, “Are we going to get the new house today?” Why on earth did we tell him in the first place, when we know from experience he will ask us everyday about an upcoming event until said event actually occurs?

The joys of selling our house are endless. First, our realtor dropped off the little marketing sheets that are set out for the showings of our home. Across the top it says “HOT NW OMAHA SPECIAL!” I asked him if we were a house or a menu item at a diner. He didn’t really think that was too funny. Realtors are kind of strange. Its been really super fun keeping the house spotless all the time with 2 kids as well, I think it’s the best exercise I’ve gotten in a long time, all the constant scrubbing has really given me some definition in my arms. :)

So that is the news from here for now!
