I thought I'd take this opportunity to just post about what the boys are doing right now, since I use this blog as kind of a scrapbook.
Henry is loving school. LOVES it. He is very nerdy and we couldn't be more pleased. He is obsessed with reading. Those of you who know me realize that this is probably genetic. Georgie and I went to the library yesterday and picked out about 20 books for Henry at his reading level and when he got home yesterday he was so excited. It's amazing the progress that he has made in the past few months. The concerns on his first quarter report card were shoe tying (my fault for always buying velcro) and prayer memorization. His highest marks were in reading and social skills. Okay, end of bragging. I know it's annoying, but I have to get this down somewhere or I'll forget.
Henry is also very into Star Wars at this point. You'll remember that he was a Storm Trooper for Halloween. Well, that was the second storm trooper costume I had to buy. I first bought one for $14.99 at Target and brought it home thinking that Henry was going to be SO excited to see it when he got off the bus. He got home and took one look at the costume and gave me the most disgusted look ever. He poked at the costume with his finger. "Mommy, its soft. The storm troopers in the movie have suits that are hard and like plastic." After explaining to him that that was for the movie and that they didn't make hard plasticky storm trooper outfits for regular people we compromised and I exchanged the $14.99 costume for the $24.99 costume which was "harder." In Henry's defense the cheap costume did look like a flimsy set of pajamas, but I was trying to save a few bucks.
Georgie is as crazy as ever. He is quite the social guy and loves to get together with his "friends." Last week we had Beatrix over for a playdate and he was ecstatic. His other fave friend is Chase and of course our neighbors. He adores "Max & Ruby." They annoy me to no end but they also buy my 30 minutes of peace so I put up with them. He loves going to Kindermusik and cannot wait to go to school himself. Hopefully I can get him into the 2-year-old program in the spring, he missed the fall cutoff date by one day. He is ready to be potty-trained but thus far I have had zero motivation to do it. My goal is to get it done by Christmas, but we'll see how it goes. Sometimes diapers are just easier, you know?
I know everyone says this, but they are growing up so fast!

I think the reading habits are in the genes. I laugh and tell everyone that the only bad habit Megs has is that she can't pass up a bookstore. But her obsession has started to change me. I bought two books the other night, and she only got one!
Can't wait to see you guys soon!
Okay, had to laugh about your comments regarding Henry's progress report. It was exactly like Alex's. She failed the Hail Mary, opps, not a very good catholic here. Now we say it every night before bed :) Have to say though we finally mastered the show tying tonight. Check that off the list. So glad he's loving school. I'm sure you guys are glad you didn't hold him another year!
Hope all is well!
Kelly
