I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but here's what's been on my nightstand lately:
The Girl Who Played With Fire - 2nd book in the trilogy
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - 3rd book in the trilogy - the whole trilogy was good, very quick reads. Not great literature, but interesting and entertaining. The movies are good, good, good. We got the first one out of the Redbox and the 2nd one we saw at the independent movie cinema while we were in Des Moines this summer. The 3rd one comes out this winter, but I am sure we won't get it in Eau Claire. Don't let the subtitles scare you away - they are great movies. Apparently they are making an American version, which I am sure will be terrible.
The Passage by Justin Cronin - disturbing and looong. But good. Yet another vampire-ish book, but these are not your teenage daughter's vampires. They don't sparkle, or glitter, or even look pretty. These dudes are MEAN.
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender- I liked it, but didn't love it. It reminded me of the Time Traveler's Wife for some reason.
Last Night in Twisted River by John Irving - very typical John Iriving novel. If you like his other stuff, you'll like it. If you don't like his stuff, you won't like it. If you want to read something of his, I would recommend other novels (The Cider House Rules, A Prayer for Owen Meany, etc.) before this one.
Such a Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster - so funny. I love this girl. She just makes me laugh, laugh, laugh. I read it on the plane back from Mexico and laughed the whole time. Other passengers thought I was crazy. (This was on the non-barfing flight. The people on the barfing flight thought I was crazy too).

I just finished reading Her Fearful Symmetry by the same woman who wrote Time Traveler's Wife. I will lend it to you. It's the only book I've read in a LONG (busy crafty for Christmas) while and it was amazing.
