Lemonade Stand

The boys have been begging me to have a lemonade stand for ages, and I finally gave in last week. Of course it turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year, which is good for business but bad for the sad sacks out there shilling lemonade and popsicles. Henry had grand plans for a vast menu of items but we whittled it down to lemonade and popsicle thingys. We drug the puppet theater out there since it looks like a stand. I agreed to help host the lemonade stand as long as we gave the money to a charity. Henry chose the Feed My People food bank here in town. He also had a marketing strategy and advertising plan that involved door-to-door flyer distribution but I nixed that idea and instead sent out an email to the neighborhood.

We ended up making quite a bit of money! And I will now stop at every lemonade stand I see because the kids were so excited when a car drove up or people on bikes stopped and bought lemonade. A lot of business came from our neighbors but we had many drive-thru orders. A special shout-out to the Eau Claire city workers who stopped and tipped generously! They were great, and the kids were so excited!
