I'm done with the excuses, the "let's honor the victims' memory by not being political" nonsense. How offensive to the lives lost to NOT talk about this. How many more? How many more mass shootings will it take for the gun advocates (and I'm not talking about hunting rifles here - I am talking about semi-automatic guns like the ones used in ALL of these mass shootings. None of the perpetrators goes into these things with a hunting rifle) to change their tune? How many more? Is there a magic number we need to hit? Just let me know. How many lives lost before it becomes politically "popular" to do what is right.
I'm tired of being a good girl, trying not to be offensive, keeping my mouth shut, listening to the other side. It's OVER. The debate is over. I'm no longer listening to the other side because THEY DON'T HAVE A LEGITIMATE ARGUMENT. Don't blame mental health - there have been crazy people since the beginning of time. A crazy man in China took a knife and slashed 20 schoolchildren on Friday. You know how many of them died? Zero. You know what the common thread, the profile is, of these mass shootings? Semi-automatic weapons. That's the profile.
So don't give me that "guns don't kill people, people kill people" BS. I'm DONE. It's over. It's time. Where do I sign the petition, write the check, do the march. I'm ready.
And this US soldier puts it in perspective better than I can.

Amen
Couldn't agree more. This was the scariest one of the school shootings to me since he didn't have any current direct ties to it. So frightening. I'm going back to everyone looks guilty until proven innocent when it comes to my children.
