This is not a test...

We had our first tornado warning here at the house on Monday night. (Confession: It was actually our 2nd or 3rd warning since Hank was born, but it was the first time we got him out of bed and took shelter in the basement. You know how those weather people get, all hyper and overexcited about the potential of a wall cloud spurning a tornado and taking out a small town. I used to say that I would not go to the basement unless I could wave at the tornado as it went by because those weather people are always blowing things out of proportion and have you ever had to get a toddler back to sleep after waking them up at 10pm?) Anyway, it happened at 7:30, right when Mike was putting Hank to bed. I saw the big red blob on the radar and heard the sirens wailing but when I saw the neighbors' trash can whiz by our front door I decided it was time to go upstairs to fetch the boys. Hank thought it was lots of fun to go to the basement and talked about the tornado all day yesterday. Georgie snoozed through the whole ordeal. No damage here, now I just have an urgent desire to clean all the crap out of our basement since that was the most time I had spent down there in awhile. (If anyone needs an IU Hoosiers coozie, we've got plenty.)
