Georgie tidbits

More stuff for the baby book that I'll hopefully get around to filling out someday.

I don't know if I can officially call them his first words, but Georgie has started saying "uh-oh" and "no no no no no". This should tell you something about what life is like in our house. Today he actually ratted himself out, he was standing next to the DVD player and I heard him say, "no no no no no" while he was hitting the eject button. (We have major issues with him getting into electronic equipment. He spazzes out with excitement when I leave the computer cabinet open and he has access to the printer and various cords.) He is also starting to repeat sounds - when we say "ma ma ma ma ma" and "da da da da da" he will repeat it. He's not calling us "Mama" and "Dada" yet.

He is absolutely into EVERYTHING. The name Curious George is a perfect fit.

He continues to be a shameless flirt. His eyelashes keep getting longer and he uses this to his full advantage when he makes eyes at the ladies. He is getting closer and closer to walking, although he cannot stand by himself yet. He has started to climb onto things and his speed at getting up the stairs is quite fast.

Oh, and a piece of advice (although many of you probably already know this - I unfortunately did not until today): Animal Planet is not always a kid-friendly channel. Hank's favorite animal is the giraffe, and as I was flipping through the channels today I saw a giraffe show on AP. "Look Hank, giraffes!" I said. Hank stopped playing and started watching the show. I continued playing with Georgie, not really paying attention to the show, when Hank asked, "why is another giraffe coming out of that giraffe's butt?" Oh good lord, I managed to catch the giraffe version of "A Baby Story," but more graphic. So I had to have the babies-grow-in-tummies-but-come-out-of-butts conversation with him. He was perplexed. I'll be more carefully screening the Animal Planet shows in the future.
