This and that

Some random thoughts on a Sunday evening:

Mad Men season 2 premiere next week! Love, love, love this show. The 1st season marathon is on right now. Watch it, people. Good stuff.

Georgie has been trying to be so much like Hank lately, it's scary. He copies everything he does, tries to play with his toys, follows him around, etc. I just read recently that you should try to make sure and set up playdates for your younger child with kids his/her own age, so they can experience playing with someone who is not older than them. I'm totally guilty of not doing this; we never hang out with any kiddos Georgie's age. Most of Hank's friends have older siblings so Georgie really is the baby of the group. One of my neighbors has two boys, one age 8, the other Hank's age, and she was saying how nice it is when the younger one comes to play at our house because he shows interest in toys that are more appropriate for him. At home, he only wants to play with big brother's toys and acts like he's 8. I definitely don't want Georgie growing up any faster than he already is!

We're having Hank's birthday party here on Tuesday, which is a week earlier than his actual birthday. I tried to arrange it for his actual birthday (July 31) but most of the people we wanted at the party were going to be out of town so we had to bump it up a week. I can see why people just go the Chuck E Cheese route - I feel like I have been planning this party for a month, and it's a very low-key affair, yet I still have a ton to do. Thankfully, Mike is taking the day off work to help out.
