We've done a lot of stuff the past couple of days, despite the rainy weather. On Saturday Meg, Hank, and I went to Bar Harbor for the day. We mini-golfed at a really cool Pirate-themed course, Pirate Adventure. Then we went into town and walked the shore path, although we weren't able to see much since the weather was so foggy. We walked around the shops and then did a little driving tour of Acadia so Meg could see it. It would have been nice to do some hiking but the weather was so spotty we didn't want to risk getting halfway up a mountain and then getting poured on. Hey, we're adventurous, but not that adventurous.
Yesterday Meg, Georgie and I hung back at the house while Hank and Mike went down to Boothbay for the "Day out with Thomas" event at the Boothbay Railroad. On the way back home they stopped at another railroad and got to ride in the steam engine. They both arrived home just in time for dinner, covered in soot.
Today we went blueberry picking. None of us had done it before, and it was not easy! The boys both loved it, and were eating the blueberries faster than we could pick them. We actually just sat Georgie down in an empty spot and he reached out and picked/ate all the blueberries he could. He was in heaven. When he was through pillaging one area, we just moved him to another area so he could start fresh. We picked 2 1/2 quarts of blueberries but paid for 3 to compensate for all the blueberries they ate in the field. There was a 98-year old woman out there picking blueberries with us and she was a faster picker than Meg and I. She was a trooper! Hank was worthless out there, once he would fill up the bottom of his little crate he'd just grab a handful and start eating them. We brought home the blueberry booty and turned them into muffins and one scrumptious blueberry pie. Now I just need to google "how to get blueberry stains out from underneath your fingernails..."

Yummy, that pie looks great!
It's just like "Blueberries for Sal!" I love it.
By the way, I have never in my life baked a pie. Do you think it's a prerequisite to parenthood?
