This may be my last post in awhile. Our home internet is freaking out right now, and not letting us access some sites, like google and blogspot. You know, stuff we pretty much use every single day. Mike talked to our cable/internet provider and we need to get a new modem, which does not make sense to do since we'll be disconnected starting on Wednesday anyway. So I'm at Starbucks right now with Henry using the free internet and enjoying a latte, while Henry is scarfing down a chocolate donut.
Lots going on - I have some great pics of our trip down to Stonington and Deer Isle, but I may have to reserve that post for after we move or while on the road in random hotels. I lost my cell phone while hiking on Deer Isle, so I got a loner phone from Verizon until I could get a new one. Meg had sent a text message to my phone asking for whoever found it to call her, and last night she got a call! So I called the woman back last night and left her a voicemail. Hopefully I'll have my old phone back by the time we leave, but in the meantime I'm stuck with the crappy loner phone.
Plans have changed again - now we are driving both of the cars out to Wisconsin (long story). So at least we won't all be crammed into the same car on the way out there.
Mike and Hank spent the weekend down at the cabin with Aunt Ilene and Cousins Eli, Dana, and Marlon. They had a blast and I got the weekend to hang out with Georgie and get stuff organized. There's not as much to do this time around, thank goodness. We had cut out a lot of the unneccessary stuff on the first move so we didn't have as much to dump at Goodwill this time around.
I am getting excited about the move, although not as excited about the work that needs to be done on the new house. As I mentioned previously, the house was built in 1989 and has not been updated AT ALL. It is essentially like walking into 1989. But it's still a great house, in a great neighborhood in the part of town we wanted to live in, with the same amount of square footage that we have now, so it will work. All the work that needs to be done is cosmetic, but it's pretty extensive. I've already arranged for new flooring and paint to be done as quickly as possible, so right after we move in they are coming out to give me the estimates. The other project is the kitchen - major facelift needed! We're talking pink ceramic tile as far as the eye can see. Original appliances. Circa 1989. It's pretty bad. But I don't think I can handle the renovation just yet, so when I talked to the contractor we discussed starting in January.
So that's where we're at! Wish us luck on our drive, and hopefully I'll be posting sometime next week from Wisconsin!!!

Awwww. But, 1989 was SUCH a good year! lol
Have a safe trip. I look forward to hearing about it and seeing pics of the house - pre-updates!
