On Thursday we attended Open House at Hank's school - it was so fun to see what a typical day is like for him there, and to finally see what he's been doing every morning! Even though his behavior was lousy last week, the bright spot was the Open House - as soon as we walked through the school doors he was all business. (Why don't we get that kind of behavior at home?)
The above picture is of Hank making a "Living and Non-Living Book," in which he pasted pictures of things on certain pages depending on if they were living or non-living things. Georgie was a human wrecking ball at the Open House, so much so that I had to remove him from the room and take him out into the hallway where he could do less damage.
On Friday night we got to go out without the kids, which was a nice break. Hank and Georgie loved the new babysitter, and once again both boys got excellent behavior reports. (Again, why do we get the rotten behavior? Why?) Mike and I hardly knew what to do with ourselves before the movie started, so we walked around the furniture store and looked at furniture for the playroom for awhile. Then we saw the new Bond movie. I'm not much into James Bond, but Daniel Craig is quite the looker, so that made it more watchable. And hey, I was just there for the popcorn anyway.
Then Saturday night we went to a dinner party at one of Mike's colleagues' house, this time with the kids. Hank had a great time playing with their girls, and at the end of the evening they put on a little play. They dressed Hank and the little girl up as a prince and princess. He didn't have any lines, but I could tell he took direction well. Georgie enjoyed all the food and smeared a few tablespoons of bean dip into his hair.
Oh, and I'm on the lookout for a warmer coat. I think it's colder here than in Maine (and I didn't think that was possible!)
