We've had a post-vacation hangover this week and it's finally wearing off.
Georgie developed an angry little diaper rash at the end of our trip that only worsened upon returning home. On Wednesday afternoon I took him over to my neighbor's house (the pediatrican) so she could take a look at it and make sure it wasn't infected, or yeasty, or any of those other gross things an already gross diaper rash can turn into. (Can I just say for a moment that I LOVE my new neighbor? The woman has a son Georgie's age and a newborn, and cheerfully lets us into her house and is quite possibly the sweetest person ever. Love her.) Anyway, she gave me some stronger diaper rash cream and said to bring him in if it wasn't clearing up. It's looking better, but part of the treatment is to "air it out", which involves letting him run around diaper-less and peeing all over my floors. Fun.
I also took Georgie to get his haircut today. He hates getting his haircut so much, he must have nerve endings in his hair. Screaming, kicking, thrashing during the entire haircut. You can imagine what it looks like. So now I'll have to clean it up a little bit tonight.
We successfully hosted a big playgroup for my new Moms' Club yesterday morning. We tested the capacity of our house, and found we can fit a lot of moms and kiddos in here and still have room left to walk. Yahoo!
Hank's behavior this week has been less than stellar. I'm not going to write anymore about it because this is a PG-rated blog, and I can't talk about it without using PG-13 or R-rated words.
So tonight we have a babysitter and Mike and I are going out. Where, I don't know, but I am just excited to get out of here!
