Counting Sheep

Decent weather for a change!

Holding the baby lamb

On Sunday we visited a local farm to see their baby lambs and other animals. Surprisingly, Hank was the one who was all about touching and holding the animals while Georgie wanted nothing to do with the little critters. (In his defense, those sheep were baaaing really loudly. And it is not a charming "baaa" sound - more like "AAAAHHHHH.") He was not amused. He did like the cookies we got at the end of the tour.

Those are funny.

I was teaching my students today about "storytelling" and I thought I'd share the experience with you...

First off, my students defined storytelling as "what parents do to make kids fall asleep" and "what people did a long time ago because they couldn't watch T.V."

I demonstrated by telling them the story of when we nearly got lost in the Bangor City Forest. I added details such as George losing his sippy cup and crying of thirst, Henry falling numerous times, and us hearing sounds and wondering if it was a bear.

They loved it. I don't think I've ever held their attention for so long!
