I've been a bit of a slacker on the blog lately. Part of the problem is that we have had so much going on and the weather has been so nice, I've hardly had time to check my email, let alone compose a blog post.
We had a fun Easter - on Good Friday we went to a huge Easter Egg hunt put on by my Moms' Club, which was really fun. On Saturday we colored eggs (see video below) and at 6:45am Easter Sunday, we were out in our backyard hunting for eggs the Easter Bunny had left. Yep, 6:45am. My flash went off for all the pictures because it was still not full daylight. Someday, when I can barely get these boys out of bed to go to school and they want to sleep until noon every weekend, I'm going to remember these days and how I wished they would just sleep a little bit longer...
Anyway, after our hunt we went to brunch with the Easter Bunny, and then that evening we went to dinner at our friends' house. This past weekend I went out to the farm and put in some work hours, planting strawberries and asparagus. It was actually pretty fun - I got some satisfaction out of digging my hands into the dirt. Maybe the boys' love of all things dirty and messy is rubbing off on me? Mike got to work constructing the raised bed for our backyard vegetable garden. Hank has been eager to get it planted, and a thorough discussion of frost dates is no deterrent - he wants to plant NOW. I'm just hoping he's this enthusiastic this summer when the garden needs weeding.
