We had a blast with my parents and sister and her fiancee in the Dells last weekend - we stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in one of the condos and it was awesome - Henry was especially happy about sleeping in a canoe bed and of course the waterpark. That kid LOVES the waterpark and waterslides - and he is not scared of anything! Very scary for me, but great for him. And we were all surprised about Georgie's new love of the water. Georgie usually hates the water - we've never had a successful experience with him in a swimming pool. He gets cold easily, which I think is part of the problem, and then he screams and kicks and yelps, "Towel! Where my towel go? Toweeeeeel!" But by Saturday afternoon he was venturing into the zero-depth edge wave pool and splashing around in the kiddie area. So I'm going to go ahead and sign him up along with Henry for swimming lessons this summer, hopefully he will still like it! It's just the parent/child class, so that means I have exactly 60 days to get myself in shape for a bathing suit. Yuck.
Last week was a bit of a crazy week around here - we had a May Day playgroup at our house on Friday morning and then ran around distributing May baskets to all of our neighbors. Henry was gung-ho on the May baskets for about 5 minutes, so naturally I ended up finishing them.
And he did extremely well at his Kindergarten screening - I was so proud! The teacher was impressed with him and when I mentioned that we had once thought about holding him a year because of his July birthday she looked horrified. "Oh no, he's ready," she said. "More ready than most." That made me feel good, I just really want him to have a good year next year.
My DVR is full of all of these great TV shows that I never have time to watch, and season finales are happening all over the place! Did anyone catch Real Housewives of NYC last night? And the Scrubs finale is tonight! Mike is so sad. I may need to postpone my 10:00pm bedtime to fit all of these shows in! And I am so freakin' excited about the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm - did you hear that the whole Seinfeld cast will be on? Okay, I'll stop now, I'm realizing how pathetic it is that I am getting this excited about this stuff.
