Lazy Ang

I haven't updated the blog lately out of sheer laziness. I have gotten into the habit of feeling like I always need a picture for a blog post, but my pictures are all still hanging out on the camera. I upload all of my pictures to my PC piece of sh*t laptop, which now permanently resides in my basement office due to it's lack of ability to hold a charge more than 5 minutes. So in order to get the pictures off the camera, I have to haul my lazy self down to the basement where I come face to face with the Kid Pit, which is looking extra disgusting/sad/messy etc. these days. So I just avoid going down there to save myself the misery. I mean, I pick the place up with the kids helping and 10 minutes later its back to it's pigsty self. I just can't take it, and since I banned all toys from the first floor I feel like I need to let the kids have a place to be kids. Although when the sprinkler guy came yesterday and I had to lead him to the utility room to turn the water on I literally kicked toys out of the way to clear a path. It was not unlike that episode of "The Middle" where the Heck family's neighbors think they were robbed because their house was so messy.

But I digress. On to the updates.

Two weekends ago we met my parents and Aunt Meg in the Dells, that lovely spot of tourism and tackiness, for a weekend stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. We had an awesome time - my kids LOVE waterparks. They are so busy having fun that they forget to whine and complain so we all end up having a good time. Henry can go on all of the slides but one and Georgie loves the kiddie slides and kiddie area. This summer we have got to make a real effort to get down to Noah's Ark - they would have a blast.

Last weekend I took a solo roadtrip to Milwaukee to take a class on Wisconsin Native Americans. You see, if you don't graduate from a Wisconsin institution and you want to practice school psychology in the state of Wisconsin, the state requires you to take this one-day class or to do a self-study and write a paper. The class was easily the lesser of the two evils and you know what? It was actually quite interesting. I really learned something. And, I got to stop at the good mall in Milwaukee and snag cute Easter outfits for the boys at Janie & Jack.

As for me, I am done working until the fall so I signed up for a tennis class at the Y. I haven't played since middle school, when Kelly HM (Kel, are you reading this?) and I took tennis for two summers at the Lincoln tennis courts through Park & Rec. Our coach was a college student named Pete (how I remembered his name is beyond me) who clearly did NOT want to be there and was waaay too cool for us. We learned next to nothing but had a good time trying to hit balls over the fence and onto the coach's car. Good times. Anyway, I am really enjoying tennis - the class is 1.5 hours long and at the end I am sweaty and tired but I don't even realize how hard I am working.

Other random thoughts...
Is anyone else watching "The Killing" on AMC? SO GOOD.
Tina Fey's new book, "Bossy Pants," is hilarious.
I found a tick on Rex this week. How is it that I am worrying about ticks and snow during the same week?
George and Mike went to Taco Bell (George calls it "Taco Bells") the other day for lunch. George loves tacos. He told me afterwards this: "I ate a DOUBLE taco from Taco Bells. It was very messy to eat. It was really embarrassing."

I love that you are loving tennis! Can't wait to play together this summer when hopefully life calms down a bit?

Your posts always make me smile :-)

I feel ya on the kid pit- we clean it and as soon as one of the girls enter, it is a disaster again. So I've stopped cleaning... what's the point.
