9 Months Old!

We had Georgie's 9 month checkup today at my not-so-favorite pediatric office. I cannot bring myself to blog about the incompentency of the people there, so I won't. I know there are probably worse pediatric practices out there, and I was spoiled with a really good pediatric office in Omaha, but I'm just not used to dealing with such stupidity. Unfortunately, the "good" pediatric practice in town is "not accepting new patients at this time" so we're stuck at Crappytime Pediatrics for the time being. Ugh.

Anyway, onto the stats:

Weight: 18 lbs 2oz (25%tile)

Length: 28.8 inches (75%tile)

So he's still kind of a string bean. He's almost pulling up to a stand now, and his appetite is getting bigger and bigger every day.

Linliey was always in the 90th% for her length/height, still is. Her weight was always in the 25-50th% and actually still is. Funny!
Wish my weight was!!

I would keep bugging the other pediatric office. Tell them you've heard such wonderful things about Dr. X, and you just can't take your kids elsewhere. Tell them you'll take a cancellation appt, and keep calling to see if anyone cancels. Once you're in, you're in. I can't tell you how important a good pediatrician is. I'm sure you already know. Our ped accepts calls anytime of day/night/weekends/holidays. In fact sometimes I feel like telling her, "take a vacation lady!" But it is so reassuring that we can talk to a doc at 3am.

Oh, I have pediatrician-envy now! Believe me, I have pulled every string possible to get into Happytime Pediatrics, but they are closed like a clamshell. One of the pediatricians is our neighbor and she is going to call me as soon as they open up to take more people. I'm one more crappy appointment experience away from actually sleeping with one of the "good" pediatricians.

Yeah, I'd start dropping off brownies and casseroles to your pediatrician neighbor with little notes like, "can't wait for good healthcare." Ha. Good luck.
