Georgie will be 10 months old on Tuesday - can you believe it??? I thought I'd write a little update of what he is doing lately, since I feel like he has changed a lot this month!
First, he has been trying to walk. He cruises around the furniture pretty easily (only a few bumps and bruises so far) and has started taking steps to get from one item to the other. He has also discovered Hank's trains, which Hank is not too happy about.
One of Georgie's favorite things to get into is the TV/DVD Player/cable box in the armoire - we have trained him to not touch it but now when he goes near it and we say "No" he gets so upset and makes the pucker face, then breaks into these huge tears. I had heard stories of how other people's children would cry and look sad when you just say "no" to them but Hank couldn't have cared less about that so I assumed I would never have one of those children! Anyway, Georgie is quite the little drama king, I felt so bad the first few times he cried after I said "no" but then I realized that he is trying to play me. I was picking up toys in the playroom the other day while the boys were playing and I saw Georgie fall down kind of hard on his bottom from where he was standing next to the couch. I saw him look around for me and I ducked into the closet for a moment as a test. Sure enough, he stayed silent until I emerged from the closet and then he puckered up and let the tears fly! Ah, they learn so young. :) He is still so happy all the time and I hope it stays that way, he just seems like he is always having fun. Oh, and he is going to eat us out of house and home. He is on pretty much all table food now and can't get enough. He won't even look at babyfood anymore, he's all about feeding himself. The nice thing is, he eats everything so we use it as an opportunity to manipulate Hank into eating stuff - "Wow, Daddy, look, Georgie is eating all of his carrots! His eyes are going to be so strong! What a good boy!" Hank promptly gobbles down more carrots. "See Mommy? My eyes are going to be strong too!" Ahh, parental manipulation at its finest. (Although it doesn't work with chicken. Nothing is going to get Hank to eat chicken, I'm afraid.)
And a quick Hank update as well - we had Open House at his preschool a couple of weeks ago and he really enjoyed showing us around, especially the eggs in the incubator which I believe are supposed to hatch this week. He also finished his little instructional soccer program, where he never quite remembered to not touch the ball with his hands. He did, however, enjoy the running-around-like-a-maniac part of the class.

He is getting so big! I wish Linliey was that easy to manipulate!
He's so cute!!! Ella also has negative reactions to the word "no", as well as "uh-uh" and "mmm-mmm". She doesn't cry, though, she growls. Sassy pants. It is funny how young kids learn to try to manipulate their parents!
Aww, Georgie :) See you in a couple months!!
I can assure you that if Mimi is there when little Georgie cries, he would be picked up right away! (Just like Hanky and Linliey!) I must add however, that it wasn't that way with my own children! It's so much more fun being a grandparent! :-)
I hate to inform you, but Georgie is THE MOST ADORABLE BABY EVER! How do you get through your day without smooching him constantly? He's seriously gorgeous!
