Ready for the 2nd day of school!
Henry got off the bus yesterday happy and excited. "I had fun!" he said, adding, "And guess what? I ate ALL of my dessert." Just what I was worried about!
Anyway, his favorite parts of kindergarten are: 1. Recess, 2. Riding the bus, 3. Lunch. Pretty typical. His teacher sent home a note saying, "Henry had a great day today. He really enjoyed playing on the playground."
He woke up this morning ready to go again. We had a little squabble over the uniform - he claims that "buttons make me itch." I had sectioned off a portion of his closet for uniform clothes and had told him he had to pick out of that side. When he thought I wasn't looking, he snuck his Lightning McQueen and Transformers t-shirts to the uniform side. "Look, Mommy," he said, "How about these?" So we had a little moment there.
Oh, and another funny Henry-ism from Monday night: We went to a picnic for my Moms' Club on Monday evening. We were visiting with another family while we were eating, and we were discussing summer travel. My friend asked, "You went on some little trips this summer, right?" I said yes, we didn't do a big summer vacation this year, just drove down to Chicago for a weekend, up north for a mini vacation, and to Des Moines twice. Henry piped up, "Yeah! And today we went to Wal-Mart!" So I think this means either:
1. We clearly need to start taking better vacations.
2. We clearly do not need to worry about taking vacations at all, since apparently a trip to Wal-Mart is pretty exciting.

Too funny that Henry tried to pull a fast one on ya! He's too smart for his own good. Perhaps he should start a petition to include Lightning McQueen on the school approved list of clothing. I can't believe he is already in kindergarten. Time goes by so fast.
PS... every time you post pics you make me want to buy a new camera. You need to stop doing that... our pocketbook can not afford it ;-) (Although I know it's not just the camera- it helps to have some adorable subjects to shoot!)
The pictures are darling!!! Noah's favorite thing about school is lunch, too! I've been up to his school twice now to have school lunch with him, and it hasn't been very great. Hope that means the rest of his day isn't terrible!! That's so cute that George wants to ride the bus, too. Does he miss Henry during the day?
