Well, not quite. And the name Bode always makes me laugh, even though Bode Miller is a stud. My high school/college boyfriend's family had a dog named Bode so the name will always be associated with a neurotic black poodle in my mind.
Henry's last ski lesson was tonight - he said he definitely wants to do it again next year. I went skiing both Saturday and Sunday and I have to admit now that I finally understand all those ski bums and why they love it so much! I'm even getting better at going down the hills and not completely freaking out and thinking that I am going to ski into a tree and die. I'm not ready to do the Birkebrenner, but I'm getting there. It's helpful to have something that you like to do outdoors in the winter, it makes the season a bit more bearable.
Henry had his 100th day of school sometime last week. His teacher sent home a list of what each child in the class said they learned in the first 100 days. Most of the kids wrote things like "I learned how to read sight words" or "I learned how to play color tag in phys ed" but Henry was the only one who had a religious statement - he said he learned "about people in the Bible like Moses and Joseph." My good friend has a son in the class and she sent me an email asking, "Was Mike cringing at what Henry said he learned?" It is pretty funny - the son of the Jewish guy and the not-really-practicing Catholic is the most pious in the class. (Mike points out that "Moses and Joseph are Old Testment dudes", thus being okay in the Jewish religion). I have asked Henry if he wants to go to church with me on the weekend, to which he responds that he only likes going with his class because when he goes with me we sit in the back.
Georgie is ever the same - although his flirting is out of control. He loves, loves, loves college-aged girls. He is shameless. He was practically hitting on the waitress at Applebee's on Friday night. We are in T-R-O-U-B-L-E.

Hmm...I really don't know if it's such a good idea to schedule playdates between Violet and George. I have a feeling our little flirts could get into a lot of trouble together!
