Georgie fell yesterday and cut his head on the ridiculous railing that separates our kitchen from our family room. The sad thing is, the dumb railing is being torn out next week when they put the new floors in. But anyway, it only bled for a little while and didn't look too bad, but I had a feeling that it might need a stitch. Luckily, one of my new neighbors is a pediatrician (score!) so I just took Georgie over to her house and she cleaned it up for me. "Yep, it probably just needs some glue," she said. So we were off to urgent care. They glued him up and we were home in time for bed. The good thing is, Georgie appears to be completely unfazed by the whole thing. as he was able to scarf down dinner before we went to urgent care and went about his day today as if nothing had ever happened.
I asked Hank today if they talked about the weather in his new classroom. "No," he said, annoyed. "There's no TVs in my class." So I said, "Oh, what do you have in your class then?" You know, trying to get him to talk about what he did at school today, etc. He sighs. "You've been there, mommy, you know what is in my class." Four years old and he's already shutting me out!

Georgie might be unfazed, but his Mimi can barely look at the pictures of his boo-boo. Poor little guy. (Grampy should have taken that railing down right away!)
Poor George! When I emailed you I hadn't read your blog yet. Henry sounds just like Linley when I ask her about school!!
Ooooh- poor little baby! It's always harder on the parents when kids get hurt. Didn't you sit through meetings when you were working as a school psych and the parents' biggest concern was that their kids couldn't remember what they did at school and/ or wouldn't talk about it? And didn't you tell all those parents that it's totally normal for kids to not remember or talk about it? It's funny how different it is when it's your own child- I know!!! Take care!
