Fall Festival

Hank waiting for candy to be thrown at the parade
Georgie enjoyed a Wisconsin apple, also handed out at the parade (presumably handed out to counteract the effects of previously mentioned candy)

The weather has been unseasonably warm here, and we've been trying to enjoy it as much as possible because we know that all too soon we'll be forced indoors for the long winter. The flooring project is DONE - finally. The new floors look pretty good and the upstairs has that new carpet smell, which I'm always a sucker for. So now we can just look forward to the painting project and of course, the big kitchen remodel, which will probably get pushed back to the spring, because I cannot fathom going without my kitchen in the months of November and December. We'll try to schedule that one for when we're out of town on vacation or something.

We went to the International Fall Festival in downtown Eau Claire today - it gave us a chance to really see the main street downtown and we had fun watching the parade and just people-watching. The other main event in the area was Oktoberfest in Chippewa Falls, but somehow beer drinking and sauerkraut-eating contests didn't seem that family-friendly, so we decided to skip that one.

And on an unrelated note, is anyone out there watching Project Runway? Is it just me, or are the designers just not that impressive this year? I like Kenley, but even she is not really as good as Rami , Christian, or Jillian from last season.
