You're my obsession

I really am obsessed with my new camera. I need to put the darn thing down and get some laundry done, or at least some other housework, but I'm addicted. I am even reading the instruction manual cover-to-cover, and I don't think I've ever read an entire instruction manual before. Even with my new washing machine, which has so many blinking lights and settings, I pretty much winged it the first few times. I'm trying to learn about using the manual settings, because I want to move out of the safety of always using the green box. Poor Hank is sick of having his picture taken, so if it seems like I start to post a lot pictures of Georgie it's because Hank requested that I stop taking his picture. (Actually, it went something like this: "MOM, STOP TAKING MY PICTURE! PUT DOWN THE CAMERA!") And as someone who is less than thrilled with having her own picture taken, I have to respect his wishes. That is, until I put the big zoom lens on the camera, in which case I will be hiding in the bushes taking pictures of him without his knowledge like some slimy paparazzi.

In other news, Hank started swimming lessons tonight and did great, and it looks like he's going to learn something this time! Plus, he LOVED it. He continues to do well at school, although he's had some very naughty moments at home lately. Mostly noncompliance issues, but he really acts up when he gets sent to time-out, so now we've had to resort to having him do time-outs in his room instead of the "time-out rug" at the bottom of our staircase. I'm hoping, praying, wishing, that it is just a phase, because it's wearing me out. Apparently, he is just "wonderful" at school, which should make me feel better, but it actually doesn't. Why can't we get the "beautifully behaved" Hank at home? Although if he was going to act up somewhere, I'm glad it's here and not at school.

And Georgie and I started Kindermusik today, which I think is going to be really fun. I did so much with Hank when he was a baby (Gymboree, playgroup, etc.) and poor Georgie hasn't gotten any of that. So Georgie grooved along to the tunes while I sat on the floor lip-syncing the songs, because I didn't want to scare the children away with my horrible singing voice.

Phase I of the "Out with 1989" remodel gets underway tomorrow. Before and after pics to follow.

Soooooo jealous. My camera literally has a ten second delay. By the time it takes the photo, Froggy has left the room, made herself a sandwich, and finished it. Grrrr.

Love the photos.
