We've been busy the last few days with my parents (Mimi & Grampy) in town, and last night Meggie and Doug arrived to join in the fun. The kiddos are of course thrilled, and Mike and I have gotten a little break and were even able to go out last night with some of Mike's work colleagues. Ah, the joys of kid-free dining and conversation! After dinner we went to an art show in town, which featured a lot of really cool pottery. It was most definitely not a kid-friendly place, complete with lots of breakable/fragile items, wine, and hors devours (sp?) and other things that we don't get to experience much these days.
We've also made popcorn balls, cookies, gone to another really cool (and really beautiful) pumpkin patch/Christmas tree farm, and a train show. Tonight we roasted marshmallows in our new fire pit and made s'mores. Too much other stuff to mention; to sum up, we've all had a lot of fun.
The remodeling saga continues - file this one under the category of "no-one-cares-but-me" - The trim paint is going well but slooooowly. We had three paint boys painting the walls, but for some reason only one paint boy has been doing the trim. Since he has been here every day, all day, for the past 2 weeks or so, we have bonded with said paint boy. At this rate, he'll probably be invited to our kids' graduations and weddings. Nice guy though, and he's doing a good job. I'll post the "after" pictures when the trim is finished.
