This is the 200th post on this blog. And I'm marking it by posting a picture of the deer in our backyard. Every time I see those stinking deer I whip out my camera and take a picture of them, then when I upload the pictures I always think, "why did I take that picture? Who cares?" So unless the deer are doing something really exciting, I am not going to take another deer picture. I'm posting this one here, just to document that yes, there are deer in our backyard and they are quite pretty and peaceful-looking. (Funny how I am taking pictures of the deer when seemingly everyone else in the state of Wisconsin is trying to gun one down).
By the way, during the day I always have all of these witty observations and funny stories to tell, and I am always thinking, "wow! That would be a great blog post!" And then I sit down at night to update the blog and I draw a complete blank and then post about something boring. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I going to have to get one of those little tape recorders (like the one Michael Keaton's character used in "Night Shift") so I can remember all of these ideas and stories? Or am I just getting old?
I'm not sure how many of you have been here since the beginning of this blog... I originally started it as a way to avoid mass-emailing everyone with pictures and updates but it's kind of morphed into a digital scrapbook of sorts. So if you're new to the blog, welcome! And if you've been here from the start, thanks for hanging in there with us.

Had to leave a note since your post rang so true for me- I could have written it myself! (It was turkeys in the backyard again yesterday for us...) Although that would have meant that I actually remembered to write about something that I wanted to....yeah, not likely. Btw, love your blog - your posts keep me smiling :) Hope that you and the boys are doing well- We miss you here in Maine!
