Cookie Monsters

We've had a couple of cookie decorating sessions at our house recently... Georgie is zero help so he was banished from the decorating until next year. Hank usually does pretty well, he is gung-ho for the first cookie or two and then poops out on me after I tell him that he can't eat every cookie he decorates. Then I end up finishing the decorating myself, separating Hank's cookies from mine due to the large amounts of saliva and goobers on the ones he does (I once saw him lick extra sprinkles off the top of a cookie that he had over-sprinkled. I am not making that up. Meg, I know you are gagging right now). Hank was excited because at school they made "gingermen" cookies. He really wants to make them here at home, which I might try because I actually don't like gingerbread cookies and that will probably decrease the amount of dough that finds its way into my mouth during the baking process.

Last night we had two sets of neighbors over for a little holiday get-together. I laughed when I realized it was 8:30pm and we had already had the party and cleaned everything up (everyone came over about 4:30 - hey, we all have small children, what are you gonna do?) Back in the old days (pre-kids) we would have just been leaving the house for holiday parties at 8:30pm. We had a great time though, and it was nice to see our neighbors since we have all been hunkered down in our homes due to the freezing cold weather. I am DEFINITELY going to need a warmer coat.

That cookie/saliva/goobers stuff is nasty. Please don't bring any of those cookies to Des Moines with you in a couple of weeks! Ew.
