An action packed holiday!

Let me begin this post by stating that this will be a very brief summary of everything that we did the past 4 days around here! It was a very busy weekend and we were busy little beavers for much of it. My parents, Aunt Meggie, and Doug came up for Thanksgiving. We cooked a great meal on Thursday and I forced everyone to do ridiculous turkey crafts, which turned out very cute. I think this will be Georgie's favorite holiday because of all the eating. I won't recap what he ate on Thursday, because you wouldn't believe me if I told you. We're having him checked for a tapeworm.

On Friday, I participated in Black Friday for the first (and probably last) time. Let me tell you, you would not believe there was a global economic crisis if you had been at Walmart on Friday morning. No parking spots. Nothing. I was one of the idiots up at 4am, ready to score the Lego Castle for Hank for $50 at Walmart (regular price: $100). So we get to Walmart, navigate the aisles full of people with their 50-inch $788 plasma TVs, race to the toy department, only to find out that THE LEGO CASTLE DID NOT COME IN. Are you freakin' kidding me??? I could be at home in bed! (Lego Castle update: We got it at the Lego Store at the Mall of America on Sunday. Price - $100.)

On Saturday we did something that we have never done before - we braved the Wisconsin cold and went to a Christmas tree farm and got a real Christmas tree. The boys "helped" me decorate it. Glass bulb casualties: 2. Minutes spent re-doing Christmas tree after they had gone to bed: 30.

All in all, a fun weekend.

Glad you guys had fun! Great family picture of you guys. You should use it for your cards this year! I'm jealous, we can't get a good one and I've been trying for the last several months. It must be that two year old thing. Happy December!

Is Hank a Lego nut? Caleb is all about the Legos too, especially Star Wars so we have been on a quest for Legos as well. Sorry you got up so early to be screwed over by Wal-Mart.

He is starting to get into Legos - Mike wanted to get him the Star Wars Legos but he's really into castles right now so we went with that instead. Believe me, we were NOT happy campers at Walmart at 5am. I hate Walmart anyway, and I especially hate 5am, so the combination was not a good one!

Love the photos! I wondered who was crazy enough to get up at 4am to brave the crowds. Now I know. :)

I tackled Target at 9pm on Friday. It was still cuckoo! But my shopping for Froggy is done. Now, I just need to buy for the other 4 million family and friends. Yikes.

I just have to comment on how cute Georgie posed in the last picture, and how cute Henry posed in the family picture...
