My parents (a.k.a. Mimi & Grampy) were in town last weekend and we had fun baking up a storm in the kitchen. We made white-chocolate covered pretzels, spritz cookies, candied pecans, Italian cookies, cut-out sugar cookies, jam thumbprints, and peanut butter balls. Oh, and 3 batches of Chex Mix. Before they arrived I had baked a different type of sugar cookie but had to give them away when carolers showed up at my door last Wednesday night. (It was soooo cold outside, so those carolers deserved something!) Henry and Georgie were absolute troopers, especially Georgie. He seemed to attack the sugar cookie dough with extra enthusiasm. They helped with the sugar cookies, then we did the rest of the baking when they were in bed or napping. They were cute little helpers, but their "help" wasn't all that helpful.
And yes, of course Georgie made a huge mess. The frosting and sprinkling process got a little out of control. Large quantities of frosting were consumed.
And on a completely unrelated note, I just packaged up 4 Baby Einstein DVDs to return for a refund - $15.99 each! Also, this is my 300th post on the blog. And I think I still have people reading this thing! Who knew?

The best part of those pictures is the Santa hats! Love it!
Give me the scoop on the Baby Einstein DVD's. I have tons sitting around the house. Loved the pics. Hope you have a Merry Christmas! I'm guessing since your parents were just there you're not heading to Des Moines. Probably a good thing considering the storm that's coming. Kelly
Aidan loves those Baby Einstein movies! I know you can refund them, I may have to do that when he is done watching them..I know supposedly they aren't educational, but he is soo busy that it makes him stand still for two seconds(:
