A productive weekend

We've had a busy few days, but they were also very productive. I went to Bunco on Thursday, my Junior League holiday party on Friday, and a Christmas Tea at my neighbors' church on Saturday morning. Mike took Georgie to St. Paul for an ice fishing show Saturday afternoon, and Henry and I worked on our Christmas gifts for our friends, which pretty much took the entire afternoon. Then I got to work cleaning and organizing the Kid Pit (when I start referring to it as the "S*&t hole" I know it's time to clean it up) and decluttering the storage room in the basement. Does anyone out there watch the show "Hoarders" on A&E? Last week's season premiere featured a woman who had so much stuff piled up in her home that the cleaning crew found the remains of her dead cat under a pile of clutter. Now I'm pretty good about keeping my house clutter-free anyway, but there's nothing like watching a dead animal being pulled out of a pile of holiday decorations to make you want to organize your stuff a bit.

I don't know why I am doing this to myself, but I bought the boys both Storm Trooper shooter gun thingys for Christmas. They are going to love them. If I can find a way to disable the sound mechanism on them, they'll be perfect.

Glad to know it's not just me. I thought it was because of the new baby, but now instead of just putting things "away", I throw them out. No need to hoard stuff that you just aren't going to use.

You mean we should take back the drum set we got them for Christmas?

If you find a dead cat in your house you can be sure Mike had something to do with it! :-) The "Kid Pit" is supposed to look that way Silly! I can't wait to be shot by the Storm Troopers on Christmas morning!

Hoarders is a great show.

Once I had one of my students clean out his locker because it smelled funny. We found an apple that appeared to be decomposing already. Ewww..
