Rainy days

It has been raining and gloomy here for the last few days, so we've been spending lots of time indoors. Yesterday was Georgie's last day of preschool - he is so sad that it is over. Last night I went to the Y with my friend Christine and swam laps for the first time in forever! The good news is, I can still swim. The bad news is, I am not nearly as good at it as I used to be. I'm going to try to keep going.

This morning I took Georgie to get his haircut. We also made cookies, bread, and lasagna for tonight. Just call me Suzy Homemaker.

I forgot to mention that I went to a Mother's Day Tea that Henry's kindergarten class put on last week - it was so cute. They presented all the moms with a plant; a cute description of each of us as written by our children (I weigh 25 pounds, love books, help Henry get dressed, and I have yellow hair); and a cookbook of recipes they wrote themselves. Henry did a pretty good job writing a chocolate chip cookie recipe - apparently he pays attention when we bake. Either that or I make waaay too many batches of chocolate chip cookies. Anyway, my friend's son is also in the class and his recipe read like this. "Go to the store. Buy some cookie dough. Better to get the dough that is already cut. Put it on a pan and put it in the oven." We had a good laugh over that one - she said, "The little sh*t ratted me out!"
