New stuff

The new furniture! (this picture is from the website)
The new bedding (also from the website)

I ordered Georgie's big boy furniture yesterday. I think we're ready to start the transition to the big-boy bed, although he shows no interest in getting out of his crib so I plan on keeping him in there as long as he wants to be in there. I felt like we kind of forced Henry out of his crib too soon because we needed the crib for a new baby and then we dealt with months of "Henry pong" as he bounced back and forth from our room to his. Luckily, Georgie's bedroom is big enough to accomodate both a crib and a full-sized bed so he won't be rushed out. I ordered the bed from Pottery Barn Teen, which seemed ridiculous for a 2-year-old until I discovered that it's the same stuff as Pottery Barn Kids but priced cheaper. He got the bedding for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa and today I picked up a couple of sheets at Target to sew together a duvet cover. Our plan was to move him into our current guest room since that room is bigger and has a walk-in closet, but he insists he wants to stay in his current room, which is just as well since I would have to repaint the peach-colored guest room if he moved in there. One of these days I'll get around to repainting his walls, when we moved in I just had his room painted with the Benjamin Moore Bone White like the common areas of our house. Also, this will get me moving on the window treatments for his room - I picked up the most awesome map fabric at the discount fabric store about 6 months ago with every intention of sewing some box-pleat valances and the fabric is still sitting neatly folded in the guest room closet. I have no excuse now!

Very cute. Have to laugh though, Alex and Henry have the same bedding just the boy/girl version. The girl version of George's is the top on my list for Addy. We clearly have the same taste :) Being lazy about getting Addy into the official big girl bed. She's using her converted crib right now and seems happy so I'm going to ride it while I can! Happy decorating!
